March 2021 - various locations in the Netherlands
Lidl was founded in 1930 as a wholesaler of fruit and vegetables. In October 1997 Lidl opened its first two stores in the Netherlands. It now has 430 stores with more than 19,000 employees and a brand awareness of almost 100%. The Schwarz group, to which Lidl belongs, has grown into one of the largest companies in the food retail trade in Europe and beyond.
Lidl wants to expand the 430 stores to 500. A store has a shelf life of seven to ten years. This equates to 40 to 50 shops per year that need to be renovated. This is an ongoing process of ten years that then starts again. Since last year, Elektro International has been able to supply the electrotechnical parts for the shop installations. In principle, we will also do this as a preferred supplier for the next four years.
The activities of Elektro Internationaal include: calculating, engineering, work preparation, execution and construction, testing and delivery.
Type of panels
To fill a typical order for a new shop, Elektro Internationaal supplies the main distributor, power supply box for the Bake-Off, a control panel, all busbar and the junction boxes at the start of the busbar system. The panels are produced in Schneider Electric’s Prisma Plus (IP55) from. In the stores that were built before 2020, all energy supply from the MD came by means of cables. In the renewed concept, the stores will be provided with three busbar routes that are fed from the MD. Two routes for the sales area and one for the warehouse. This way a cable reduction of 80% is achieved.
Security stock
Elektro International maintains special stock for calamities for two stores. This allows immediate delivery in the event of defects in a store. The shop can then reopen as soon as possible.
